Applications of Maths in Our Real Life

Use of maths in real life

All we study a subject is called mathematics. Actually it is not a subject, it's feeling, it is an emotion, it's more than just a subject. It is a fundamental part of our daily life. Maths in our daily life is essential to manage finances, to solve problems, and to make our important decisions.
In this blog article we will know about various topics of mathematics and how they apply to our everyday life.

Arithmetic (अंकगणित) : The Basics of Calculation
Use of maths in our life

It is the basic knowledge of digits and numbers and their relative operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Basically it is used to calculate finance like expenses and savings.
Let's taken practical example of application of mathematics in everyday life. When we go to grocery shopping, we use the numbers to calculate total cost of items what we purchased. Is it used for counting.

Geometry
Use of geometry in daily life

It is all about to understand points, lines, surfaces, solids, shapes, angles and areas. We use geometry when we decorate our homes, arrange furniture or even design gardens. It help us to understand the best use of utilising a space.
For example architect used geometry to design buildings. People use it to know how much paint is needed for a room. These are the examples of the application of math in real life.

Algebra : Solving Unknown Value

Use of algebra in daily life

Algebra is a part of daily life in mathematics. Algebra is used to solve the unknown values. If there are a relationship between three quantities and we know the two quantities then we can find the third.
It is used to study of genes and DNA.
Algebra is used in economics, x and y are used to determine the supply and demand of goods.
In computer graphics, x and y are used as coordinates to design objects and their movements.

Probability And Statistics: Understanding Chance & Data

Probability and statistics are generally used to calculate risk. Probability is a calculated number of happening event or vice versa. Statistics is the data of past by which we can predict the future data.

Trigonometry: Measuring Angles & Distances
Use of trigonometry in daily life

Trigonometry is nothing but a relationships between angles and sides in triangles. It has many real world applications. This is the branch of mathematics which is used in the fields like architecture, aviation and even astronomy.
We can find the distance between the celestial bodies by using trigonometry.
Trigonometry angles are used in the construction of marine ramps.
It is used to spot a location for navigation.

Calculus : Understanding the change

Calculus is the study of change. And it's application of mathematics in real life can be found in fields like physics, economics, biology and Engineering. It is used to track the growth of population, to analyse stock market or predicting the changes in climate.
An architect uses calculus to calculate the materials required to construct curved structures such as doms.
Electrical engineers use calculus to calculate the length of power cables between places that are apart of miles.
Biologists use it to calculate the rate of growth in microorganisms in different environments.
In physics, calculus helps in finding of centre of mass, centre of gravity etc.

  • Calculus include many topics like functions, limits, continuity, differentiation, application of derivatives, integration, application of integration, differential equations.

Matrix
Use of matrix in daily life

Matrix is used to create the programs in robotics. There are many places restaurants, hotels where the robots are used as servants. Their programs are made by using matrix.

Mensuration

Mensuration has many real life application of mathematics.
You can calculate the number of tiles which are to be settled on the floor.
You can calculate the amount of paint which is to be painted on a wall.
It includes the topics like measurement, weight, length, height, volume, area.
